As citizens of the nation, we are entitled to various rights. These rights vary from country to country. However, there is a certain set of rights that are universal to all. These are human rights. They refer to a person’s basic rights and liberty from birth until death.

Human rights are inherent to all people regardless of race, sex, nationality, ethnicity, religion, or any other status. It is of the utmost importance for people of all ages to know and understand them. This holds especially true for those who are fighting for advocacy & human rights.

It is ideal for people of all ages to know and understand human rights. This is because it keeps them guided as to what rights they are entitled to. Therefore, it is less likely that they would experience abuse from others.

When one knows his/her rights, he/she would know when to call out others when they are already crossing the line. Understanding human rights is also beneficial for nations. This is evident in the Biafra restoration in New Jersey.

The Biafra referendum aims to promote self-determination among the peace-loving people of Nigeria. The government-sponsored genocide that lasted for four years from 1967-1970 has raised the concern of Nigerians all over the world.
